Don't Step Wrong
Don't Step Wrong is a puzzle game based on deductive logic, where the player moves through a grid of labeled blocks, following implicit rules that must be discovered through trial and error.
This game was developed for the Brackeys Game Jam 2025.2, but I have plans to provide updates down the road, especially new levels if the feedback is positive. So, please leave any comments you may have. They'll be much appreciated.
A quick "lore" before you play...
- An eccentric grandma bakes the best cookies in the world...
- The recipe for success? Her oven is inside a volcano...
- To protect her baked goods, she created a self-destructing bridge that collapses if not crossed correctly...
- Would you risk stealing a cookie that just came out of the oven?
How to play
- The goal is to cross from the first block to the last.
- You can only move by clicking on blocks next to or diagonally, following the rules of each stage.
- Rules can be mathematical, logical, or thematic (e.g., odd numbers only, words without vowels, chemical elements, etc.).
- In the early stages the rule is shown; later it must be figured out.
- If a wrong block is chosen, the board collapses and the level restarts with new values respecting the same rule.

Good game, had a lot of fun! But you might want to consider adding hints after a few failures for idjets like myself!
Thanks for playing!! I'm thinking about a hint system to be implemented after the jam. Something like you get some currency when reaching the end of a stage then trading later for hint cards. Good call btw.
